Kangol was founded by Jaques Spreiregen in a remote corner of Northwest England  Cumbria, England in 1938. Kangol was born.  Founder Jaques Spreiregen created the name by combining the K from knitting, the ANG from angora, and the OL from wool as we specialised in knitted hats made from those yarns. Kangol was born in England but raised on the streets of New York in the 80's. Kangol truly embraces their history by continuing to produce a portion of their hats in Britain. Their UK Collection hats and caps are designed with an eye towards tradition and superior quality. This high-end headwear is built for those who appreciate the painstaking hat-making techniques that go back several generations.  Wigéns was founded in Tranås in 1906 by Oscar Wigén. The production of hats and caps already had a long tradition in the city at the time, and the most skilled workers were at Wigéns. Oscar Wigén was known to be extremely careful with details, and under his leadership the company became a leading name in the industry. When Oscar Wigén died in 1944, he donated the company to the employees and in 2013 it became a part of Amanda Christensen AB.  Wigéns hats and caps stand for personal style and genuine quality.
